We will be having a quiz on 3 digit addition and subtraction ( with and without regrouping), and problem solving on THURSDAY MARCH 12th.
FEBRUARY 3rd/2020 We are having a test on Area and Perimeter this Friday Feb 7th Practice pages have been sent home with all students this week to use to review material prior to the test. Please see below for more material that you may wish to use. area_and_perimeter_practice_3.pdf area_and_perimeter_practice_2.pdf area_perimeter_practice_1_2_sided.pdf DECEMBER 10th/ 2019
SEE STUDY GUIDE BELOW (for PATTERNS TEST on DECEMBER 16th) PATTERNING GUIDE__14_.pdf NOVEMBER 26/19 Please use this guide for studying prior to the test on Thursday Nov 28th. DATA MANAGEMENT TEST STUDY GUIDE_.pdf November 22/2019
We will be having a UNIT TEST on our Data Management skills on THURSDAY NOVEMBER 28th. Please see IXL skills posted on the right side of this page for support with studying. An additional study guide will be posted soon. Oct. 18/2019
We will be having a Place Value Test on Friday, October 25 Students should review skills on the IXL program and may wish to review this study guide prior to test day. Study guide_.pdf October 2/2019
A letter re-introducing the IXL math site was sent home with your child today. Included with the note was your child's username and login information. Please record this in a visible place so that your child can access the site easily. Students are encouraged to take 20 minutes, 3 or 4 nights a week to build upon and solidify numeracy skills through the IXL program. Please help to support your child by ensuring he/ she is able to access this program as often as possible. I will be reviewing reports generated from the program to help to determine strengths and weaknesses in numeracy. Support at home will prove to be incredibly valuable and build upon your child's growth in mathematics. Please see our website tab for a direct link!- LOGINS SHOULD BE THE SAME AS LAST YEAR |

They will also be working on problem solving strategies (using pictures, numbers, and words) to answer questions. Students will soon be bringing home all class work completed in term 1. JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2020 We are working through our Measurement unit! Our focus at this time will be learning about Linear Measurement , Perimeter and Area and Temperature. 3m31-estimate, measure, and record length, height, and distance, using standard units 3m32– draw items using a ruler, given specific lengths in centimetres 3m36– estimate, measure, and record the perimeter of two-dimensional shapes, through investigation using standard units 3m41– compare standard units of length and select and justify the most appropriate standard unit to measure length 3m42– compare and order objects on the basis of linear measurements in centimetres and/or metres in problem-solving contexts - estimate, measure and record length, perimeter, area, and temperature using standard units - compare, describe and order objects, using attributes measured in standard units Refer to the following Grade 3 learning activities on IXL: ** V5, V7 , V8 and V9, V10 will be addressed soon! Students are encouraged to explore these units as well, in advance of the concepts being taught in class** Units of measurement
Dec. 2nd: We are learning about patterns and relationships. I can describe, extend and create a variety of numeric patterns and geometric patterns (3m65, 3m66,. 3m67, 3m68, 3m69, 3m70).
